Cancellation Policy

Standard Cancellations

Bookings are subject to the following cancellation fee timeline. Percentages reflect the proportion of the total booking cost that will be refunded:

  • 46–60 days before the booking start: 100% refund (full refund).
  • 31–45 days before the booking start: 30% refund.
  • 1–30 days before the booking start: 0% refund (no refund).

Safety & Weather Disruptions

In the event that the resort closes all operations (all lifts closed due to high winds, visibility, or safety hazards) or the guide cancels a backcountry session due to avalanche risk, the client will receive:

  • An immediate option to reschedule the session for a later date (subject to availability).
  • A 100% full refund if rescheduling is not possible.

Participation Agreement & Liability Waiver

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

I understand that skiing, snowboarding, powder guiding and backcountry activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, avalanches, tree wells, cliffs, rocks, creeks, changing snow and weather conditions, equipment failure, hypothermia, fractures, serious injury or death. I voluntarily accept these risks.

2. Personal Responsibility

I agree to participate within the limits of my own physical fitness, skill level and health condition. I accept full responsibility for my own actions and decisions throughout the activity.

3. Equipment

I agree to use appropriate equipment for the activity. Helmet use is strongly recommended. For all backcountry activities, an avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel are mandatory. I will immediately notify my instructor of any damaged, defective or unsuitable equipment.

4. Medical Conditions

I confirm that I have disclosed any medical condition, injury, pregnancy, allergies, medications or other health issues that may affect my participation. I understand that failure to disclose such information may increase the risks associated with participation.

5. Ability Declaration

I confirm that I have provided accurate information regarding my skiing or snowboarding ability, experience and physical condition. I understand that incorrect or misleading information may increase the risk of injury.

6. Instructor Instructions

I agree to follow all instructions and safety decisions made by my instructor. If I fail to follow instructions or behave in a manner that creates a safety risk, EZO Snowsports may immediately terminate my participation without refund.

7. Changes or Cancellation of Activities

EZO Snowsports reserves the right to modify, postpone or cancel any lesson or guiding activity due to weather, snow conditions, avalanche danger, resort restrictions, safety concerns or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

8. Emergency Medical Assistance

If an accident or medical emergency occurs, I authorize EZO Snowsports to arrange first aid, rescue services or emergency medical treatment as considered necessary. I understand that any medical, rescue or evacuation costs may be my responsibility.

9. Release of Liability

I voluntarily participate with full knowledge of the risks involved. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I release and hold harmless EZO Snowsports, its owners, employees, contractors and instructors from liability for any injury, death, loss or property damage arising from my participation, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

This release includes risks arising from natural hazards, weather conditions, snow conditions, terrain, avalanches, actions of other participants, resort facilities and other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of EZO Snowsports.

Accident insurance is provided separately in accordance with the Company's insurance policy.

10. Cancellation & Early Termination

All cancellations are subject to the EZO Snowsports Cancellation Policy.

No refund will be provided for lessons or guiding activities that are shortened or terminated after commencement due to participant choice, failure to follow instructor directions, illness, injury or safety considerations.

11. Personal Information

Personal information collected will be used solely for booking administration, communication, safety management and legal compliance.

12. Photography & Media

EZO Snowsports may photograph or record participants during activities for promotional or marketing purposes. If I do not wish to appear in such media, I will notify EZO Snowsports in writing before the activity begins.

13. Participants Under 18

Participants under 18 years of age must have consent from a parent or legal guardian. Submission of this agreement by a parent or guardian constitutes such consent.

14. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Sapporo District Court, Japan.
